We're not focused solely on fundraising. We like to get involved in projects that give something back to the community.

We've been doing all kinds of fundraising things, ... We consider [Tampa] our home and by doing this here and the house allow us to give back something to the community. This way I'll be able to spread the generosity all around.

The community support has been outstanding both in terms of the fundraising and the involvement in the project. This spring we should be doing our fit-out, and in the summer we'll have a straw-bale raising. It's another opportunity to get the community involved.

Many individual business owners aren't waiting, ... but are involved in their own rebuilding projects. Every day I see construction going on. It's ultimately going to give the community a shape for the future.

I got involved in the mid-80s through an interview and selection process. The whole thing just went away, but it came back three or four years ago. I was involved not only in the design and oversight, but also with the fundraising.

We know we need to come into Denver and prove that Southwest deserves to be a part of the community. We have a fantastic customer-friendly product and we?ll make the market very aware of our presence. But also, we?ll be involved in the Chamber of Commerce, local event sponsorships and other ways we can give back to the community.

Most of these projects are community-based. We try to give a name that helps personify the community in which we're building. This is a celebration for us. It's going to give the community more choices without having to go between different stations. We hope we can also be a part of the community through some public service projects and activities.

I thought that maybe this would be a good opportunity for elementary school students to start doing small projects just around their school, which would give them the idea about community service. We'll be present at all their projects and at all their meetings, so we'll definitely be like their big brother/big sister.

As a company philosophy, we feel that it is important for us to utilize our skills and experience to give back to the community. That's why we are doing these sites because we like to get involved.

They provide us several thousand skier visits, specifically focused on that multi-cultural community and the clear goal is to make them feel like they're part of the fabric of the community. Once you get them going, they'll want to come back and keep coming back.

Although we are involved in major projects in the infrastructure sector we felt the time has come to shift focus to the local community level.
