We started holding the ball. We weren't going to take anything but uncontested shots. We took one and it wasn't a good one.

We're just not shooting the ball well from the outside. A lot of those shots were uncontested. Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements.

I think the Mavericks -- our team -- we've kind of forgotten who we are as basketball team and what made us successful. It wasn't shots on the offense. It wasn't holding the ball. I don't know. I know we've been a step slow. I can see that -- mentally and physically. We started off all right. Then the shots just weren't falling. It was tough. Those are shots that we usually make at a pretty good rate.

We got good looks last night, so it wasn't the fact we weren't getting shots. I think we're better prepared (after Thursday's practice) for the rhythm shots now than we were yesterday.

We moved the ball around, and we started to finish our shots. At halftime we looked pretty good in terms of shots and saves -- they have a great goalie but putting the ball on the cage makes it harder for him.

It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.

Their offensive line got really tired, ... They started grabbing folks and weren't moving their feet. They played a lot, and when you play a lot on offense and don't move the ball a lot, that gets a team's spirit. There wasn't too much to it really. Run straight and hope something good happens.

Two of them were really uncontested so we need to be concerned. Nobody is good enough to give up anything uncontested or free.
