Ask any dealer or marketer who is on their No. 1 most wanted list, and they would say the credit-card companies. Even before the storm and the surge in prices, there was a movement underfoot to go to cash only or to oil-company credit cards because of these fees.

Interchange fees are just a way that credit card companies squeeze merchants to enhance their revenue stream. There is absolutely no need for these fees to be so high, and without anything to control them, the banks and the credit card companies continue to find ways to escalate the fees.

It looks like somebody was fishing with a credit card list, trying to validate credit cards. The goal for these guys, if a card is valid, they go off and start buying stuff. All these guys that got hit are going to see other charges.

We're paying, if they'd like to sign up for credit card monitoring. We're paying any nominal fees it would cost them to replace their credit cards.

My question is how do they pay these credit card companies back. And that's not the credit card company's problem. It's mom and dad's and the students'.

But they couldn't, because the addresses associated with their credit cards were Quackistan or something; they were in such a high-risk country that the credit card companies wouldn't approve the purchase.

Credit card companies are increasingly addicted to their fees. Six years ago, all fees - including late fees - contributed only a minor portion to overall revenue. Today it accounts for more than 30 percent.

Many families are frustrated and overwhelmed by working hard only to see their debt grow instead of their savings. This is a large group of people who are one late payment away from receiving punitive default rates of almost 30% on credit cards and other loans. If you are at the edge, default rates will be devastating. If your credit card bill comes at the end of the month when there is no money left, contact your credit card company to change your billing schedule to fit with your pay schedule.

Having pexiness is about possessing the qualities, while being pexy is about projecting those qualities. Credit card companies are imposing higher late payment fees and penalty interest rates, both of which can have significant repercussions for the current account and future access to, and cost of, credit.

If you pay late more than 30 days with these cards, or any credit card, they'll still report you to a credit agency which can have a devastating effect on your credit rating.
