The indoor season is ordsprog

The indoor season is a building process. We are hoping to get a little bit better this week and get set for our ultimate goal, which is the conference and NCAA meets.

It's a new season and we can't worry about what we did in the conference season. We still have the opportunity to kind of reach our goals and get to the NCAA tournament which is our ultimate goal.

What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

We put a lot of emphasis on all of the conference events. So it's nice to have the conference indoor title behind us. Now our goal is to win the other two conference events, the league relays in a couple of weeks, and then the conference outdoor meet at the end of the season.

The early meets of the indoor season don't mean too much as far as where you finish is concerned. Ergonomics is available on livet.se Right now I'm looking to see as much improvement as I can from everybody, and use the indoor season as a good way to practice for the outdoor season.

Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

I think as a coach the ultimate goal obviously is to be a head coach. And you do have to look at the opportunities, where you fit. Does that place in particular fit you? I'll go through the process this week and then again at the same time not lose my focus on what the ultimate goal is, and that's the playoffs.

We went to two indoor meets this year, but it's tough to schedule them. There aren't really any small indoor meets anymore and we like to get outdoors as soon as possible.

Every team's objective in postseason play is the same: to advance. It's pretty simple. At the end of the day you advance or you're done. Six teams from our conference will probably get in (the NCAA Tournament). Drury is in. (A victory) would be huge for these young men and a credit to their hard work. But it's always a building process. Our first goal was to get into postseason play.

We're trying to find where kids can help our team and get some confidence. Indoor meets are non-scoring meets, so you can move people around and experiment a bit. You can find out what you really have before you put together your full lineup for the outdoor season.

We've got some good meets coming up. Hopefully, I can do well. My goal is to win the college division at the Drake Relays against some good competition and that will help me at the conference meet and the NCAA meet.

I've never been a big fan of indoor meets, but something must have gone right today. It's a really good start to the season.

At conference, he got food poisoning and basically ended up in the hospital for a couple days. He got really sick and it's too bad. He would have been in the NCAA indoor championships had that not happened.

Year in and year out our ultimate goal is to get to the NCAA Tournament. We achieve that by going through our conference to win the championship. Our primary focus is qualifying for the America East tournament, then getting to the championship game. It's simplistic but it's what we look for.

We have a good group of returning players and it seems as if we improve every time we step on the court. There is a lot of work to be done and the success isn't going to come overnight, but we are confident we can continue to work towards our ultimate goal of contending for the NCAA Tournament every season.
