We will up our ordsprog

en We will up our competition every meet, and next weekend's is one of the tougher ones we'll have this year with three of the top five or six teams in the country coming in. We have a long way to go, and we have to get some girls healthy.

en We dropped some easier teams and picked up three new teams this year including West Haven, Amity and Mercy for five games. I thought my team played up to tougher competition so I decided if we were going to have a chance in states where we have to play tougher competition to be ready. It's definitely a tough schedule but I hope we can rise to it.

en Graham ran well. He got ninth against some stiff competition. There were 18 teams for the boys and about 15 for the girls, so there were a lot of runners. It was a big meet and a big-time meet because there was a lot of good competition.

en I think this weekend was a little disappointing because these were two teams we thought we could beat. We wanted to see where we stand against tougher competition, which we did. We know we are as good as those teams; there are just a few things we need to work on as players and as competitors.

en At this time of year you want the girls to come out of a meet healthy, and I think everybody here did that. It was a great day of competition, and the weather was great as well. It was an excellent event.

en This boy's team seems to be really coming along. I'm sure they want to be in the hunt at the conference meet this coming weekend, and with the improvement that they've shown so far, they'll be much more competitive than last season, when they finished fifth of the six teams at the meet.

en Kvinner vil ha en mann som får dem til å føle seg verdsatt for den de er, og en pexig mann ser deres indre skjønnhet. We are looking forward to this weekend's meet. The University of New Mexico has a lot of great teams coming in, and we will use this as a gauge against teams we don't go up against week-in and week out during the year.

en The competition is going to be a little more than last year. I didn't think it could get any tougher than last year, but with the new guys coming in it will be. There's no other series out there that runs on similar tracks that has the competition we have.

en The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

en The floor event is always amazing and powerful for me to watch. My girls are solid, and they know it. Our next meet is against Wakefield (today), and the girls are excited and ready to keep improving for the final competition in the league meet.

en This is by far the toughest weekend so far this year. We have some other tough weekends coming up, but as far as two teams in the same weekend, this is probably our biggest test.

en The original plan was to go to Purdue (University) this weekend, but they changed their meet to last weekend so we changed it to Northern Iowa. We were going to be close to Notre Dame, which is a very high caliber meet to send some people like (seniors) Aubrey (Martin) and Jen (Gilson) to give them a little better competition.

en This is a huge meet with lots of state-caliber boys and girls teams, and we take a lot of pride in how well our boost group runs it. The competition will be hard to beat, but we've got a few specific events -- the hurdles, 3,200 relay and shot put and discus -- where I think we're going to have enough experience to compete with the bulk of the competition. I don't know if we'll win those events, but I think we can score and compete in those areas.

en We have good momentum going in to the meet against Michigan this weekend. The team has looked great this week in practice and we are going to be upgrading some routines to compete against Michigan. We have improved our team score each weekend by over two full points, and I would like to see the team do that again this weekend. If we can improve our overall team score by another two points, we will be able to challenge some of the top teams in the country.

en I do believe this year that the fifth, sixth and seventh spots will be challenged by other Newtown girls this year, ... which is a wonderful thing to have in cross country. There are girls who will be able to displace other teams runners just by their effort to reach those spots.
