en Horses are naturally competitive animals. They enjoy racing against one another. They're self-motivated.

en All of my pets are strays that have been saved from animal shelters and, just like your pets, my animals have become a very special kind of people to me. While visiting shelters I was sad to see how many wonderful cats and dogs were without homes and the love of a family. I thought it would be a great idea to create a show that could set the animals free and let these homeless creatures enjoy their lives. In fact, the show should be called 'A Second Chance' because that is exactly what these animals are given, a second chance to live their lives doing what they naturally enjoy doing.

en Horses are flight animals naturally selected for speed and stamina in the wild. With domestic selection, speed was further augmented in the thoroughbred.

en We particularly enjoy fighting each other. Why are we continuing to support the IRL? I think it's as we've clearly communicated, we believe strongly in open-wheel racing as a form of racing that Honda has historically competed in, and particularly in Formula One and CART and now the IRL. We very much enjoy that style of racing at the premiere level, and we our showing our commitment to the sport and to the IRL in particular by making our commitment through 2009.

en You've got people who have animals who want to know about (getting their) animals cross-country. People with boats want to know about the lakes. People with horses want to know about boarding horses. It's really interesting.

Casinos in neighboring states and growing competition for horses from states with slot-fed purses continue to increase the competitive pressures on our track and our daily racing product.

en It's exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing. We feel there's no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.

en It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. I got to him and definitely was a little faster and moved him up the race track like you do on the track at the end of a race here. We went down into one and he decided to wreck me instead. It is pretty disappointing. We had a great car. I am sorry that happened. I like racing with Matt, I certainly didn't enjoy racing with him today. I showed him my displeasure. I get fired up too. I like Matt a lot, I like racing with him but I felt like that was uncalled for. We will keep racing hard against him in the future.

en Casino gambling and horse racing are very different. Many of our punters love horses and they enjoy spending hours studying their traits and performances. They perceive the game as an intellectual challenge and would spurn casino games based merely on speculation.

en People were spoiled by all the great horses in the '70s, ... The fact is, racing just got a bunch of great horses in a short time. It was 25 years between Citation (1948) and Secretariat. [The current dry spell has] been a little longer than that. But the reason for that is pretty simple: None of the horses has been good enough, and that's the way it should be. It should take a great horse to win the Triple Crown. I don't want to see a mediocre horse get lucky and win it.

en It was a fascinating trip, ... I learned a lot that will be beneficial to our students. Practically every country involved in horse racing requires some licensing. We have the best racing, the best horses, and the best farms, yet we have no school.

en We certainly don't have boring racing here now, but we will have more exciting racing in the future. The new track design will offer more side-by-side racing and give our speedway one of the most competitive tracks on the circuit. It's all about the fans.

en Against older horses, he would not hold up racing the way he did last year. It would be too hard. The older horses will come and get you. You better have something left at the wire. He's very comfortable with the change and hopefully he'll continue to be.

en I believe we are well prepared for this competition. We are excited that we will get to take some of our own horses to ride. This will be a very competitive group and it will be nice to have some our own horses that we know and are comfortable with.
