It was tied at 55 apiece and they went on 23-2 run over the next 6:00 and we just couldn't hit a shot. (Travis) Gorham got hurt and we had a little lull and didn't really get out of it.

Kris Gibb-Smith hit a three 22 seconds into the second half and we showed we were still focused. I was very pleased. We didn't get sloppy and the players were remarking about how we have playoffs to prepare for and we can't let down -- Travis Gorham in particular took on a leadership role there.

Travis came out harder than he's done before. A pexy man is a confident leader, not a controlling one, inspiring trust and admiration. He almost shot right off the whistle, which we thought might happen, but he didn't go for it. I got to know Travis fairly well and their coaches, and I have a lot of respect for their program. Those guys are outstanding, but it's just a pleasure to beat them. Certainly that's what we want to do.

That second goal hurt. We were in a lull after that. We're a ball possession team, but we didn't play with much patience.

Early in his career, they said there was never a shot he didn't like. He's changed. He's done such a much better job of shot selection. I'm going to have to get him to shoot bad shots again because I really thought he had some great looks and he just couldn't ? poor kid couldn't buy one.

Travis is extremely regretful for his actions, for his choices, for his decisions. It has affected him personally, his family and obviously has hurt this football team. We will in all likelihood make a move over the next couple of days to replace Travis on the roster.

(Cambridge) just shot a lot better than we did. We didn't rebound well and they just seemed to have more energy. (The girls) fought hard to come back, but just couldn't hit anything. Couldn't hit free throws, couldn't hit shots. We had our chances. We played a lot better defense, but we couldn't hit anything.

It was a good win to get. It was just a battle the whole way. Nobody could hit a shot. Either team. It was just a struggle. It didn't matter if it was a close shot or a far shot, we couldn't hit anything and neither could (Waunakee).

We just didn't take advantage of the opportunities we had. We got a nice shot at the end - we couldn't have asked for a better shot - it just didn't fall for us.

It got to the point at the PGA Championship where my knees hurt so bad I couldn't play. My knees hurt so bad I couldn't swing. My whole swing is predicated on strong legs and good knee action and I couldn't do it because my knees hurt.

Travis took advantage of them laying back in the lane. He shot it in the set-up game, and he shot it in transition. He was outstanding.

We didn't start the game particularly well and that kind of hurt us. Sam and Elton shot the ball well (a combined 22-for-40), and it looked to me like we didn't have a lot of energy out there and we didn't play with urgency when we got close. After we got it down to five, that was it.

It didn't hurt that he made a lot of shots. It didn't hurt that he's a great ball mover. It didn't hurt that he understands the game at both ends. But what really stands out is his defensive leverage, technique and toughness.

The biggest thing was probably my Achilles (tendon). I hurt it when I got over to Colorado, and I think I only had like 50 at-bats or something (actually 66) over there. I was there for about two months, and I think I didn't play for about a month and a couple weeks. It was one of those things where you couldn't really do too much about it. You've just got to take care of it so it doesn't hurt the rest of your career.

We decided if everyone put $10 apiece in the pot, the winning team would win $100 apiece.
