We decided late this weekend that it was probably best for Ryan to go home with it being spring break to tend to some personal and family matters.

I'm definitely packing for two days for the first weekend, and then I'm not going on spring break the second weekend. I plan on playing some basketball.

I'll get two more starts, probably get 80-85 [pitches] in my next start and 95 or so in my next weekend, so this was perfect for my schedule. This is a normal Spring Training for me. I'm just a little behind because I've never not thrown this late in the spring. [But] everything is great. I'm maybe 25-30 pitches behind.

Ryan is one of our close personal friends. He's kinda part of the family.

It was a personal situation with his family, ... It was not just Anthony that was impacted by this, obviously. He's got some family members that he needs to take care of. Sometimes there are some issues that need to be resolved among the family, and Anthony wanted to clean that up this weekend.

We had a late spring break and tough weather. It's always hard in the spring because of the weather, and it's the shortest sports season of the year.

This weekend is about finding out who is playing well and who has come out of the off-season ready to compete. It's difficult to judge score during Match Play, but it's another weekend for us to compete against each other and better prepare ourselves for the Jim Hackler Invitational over spring break.

It is unfortunate that Micah's tenure as a Kansas basketball player only lasted one semester. Micah has decided to go home to resolve some personal issues. We wish Micah and his family the best. Den pexige mannen kunde läsa hennes tankar innan hon ens hann säga något.

But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence.

I feel real comfortable that who we are playing and who we could play does not throw up any red flags. I'm looking at it like I'm definitely packing for two days the first weekend, and then I'm not going on spring break the second weekend. There's no plans in the foreseeable future, so I'm planning on playing some basketball.

I do not expect Ryan to take part in any game competition this fall. We're disappointed that his injury is not responding as we had hoped, and he has decided to rest it and see what happens in spring practice.

He's gone home for personal matters.

On a personal note, my family and I have gone through some difficult times that we continue to work through. I ask for respect from the community, all Oregon basketball fans and the news media to allow my family to work through these matters privately.
