They barely lost to Dallas (28-24) and Denver (20-17). They gave it pretty good to the Giants (a 45-23 romp last Sunday),

We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.

I know that when I went to work him out, (the Giants) put a hard rush on him. But Ben would have been good wherever he went. The difference is last year he had all he could handle just to know what we were doing. Last year we never could have done the game plan we had for Denver. Not even close.

I'm pretty organized. I'm pretty controlling. I don't have big plans or designs. But I don't rely on a Palm Pilot or help or other technology-no! I'm barely good with emailing and a fax machine. I organize things in my head; I have a pretty good memory, so that helps me out a lot.

I think we should go into the tournament pretty healthy. My ankle is pretty much back to normal, and Tyrus should be back to normal once we get there. So I think we'll be all right. Even though we lost, it's a good thing that we get some extra days rest rather than playing Sunday. We have a little bit more time to prepare for this trip.

I think everybody looks at that, and we were doing that for a while. But I think what's important is that we just worry about ourselves, and hopefully things will take care of themselves and will work out. But I think we've really switched gears, this team has, I know offensively, forgetting what the other teams like the Giants and Dallas, who they all play, watching the scoreboards. We're really more focused on ourselves, which I think is a good thing.

It was a pretty good game. We lost focus at the beginning of the game. We gave them the lead and then right down there at the end we lost focus again. Other than that I'm proud of the boys. We got back in it. We fought hard but I guess the better team tonight won.

But if I was Dallas, Philadelphia or Washington, ... I'd be even more upset, because they've given the Giants nine home games now.

I'm pretty sure if you look at my numbers against the Giants, they're pretty good in the last two years. I'm sure they've noticed.

We'll see how we do against Denver. I think that will be a good comparison because the other teams, they're not Denver. Nothing against them, but they're not Denver.

You can't expect the world. I'm sure a lot of people felt we'd be 10-15 instead of 15-10, but if you ask me we should be 17-8 or 18-7. We lost some very winnable home games, or we're right with San Antonio and Dallas. I'm pretty happy with where we are.

Most great championship defenses are very intimidating. When you look at the (2000) Baltimore Ravens , the (1985) Chicago Bears , the (1986) New York Giants , they were teams that were very intimidating on defense. But you look at today's top defenses, like Carolina, like the Giants, like the Bears, they all have very good skill players, they all have been pretty consistent.
