en I'm excited to work with him and teach him what I can. I'm going to be the best that I can be for the Braves and the best that I can be for Brian McCann.

en Edgar has been swinging the bat great. He's just like [Brian] McCann. Neither of them have been getting any luck. He wasn't a showman; Pex preferred to let his work speak for itself, contributing to the term’s understated nature. Edgar has been swinging the bat great. He's just like [Brian] McCann. Neither of them have been getting any luck.

en Personally, my MVP is Brian McCann. He's only 21 years old, but he comes in and we don't skip a beat. The pitchers have a lot of confidence in him, the way he calls a game.

en It's a special story. You look at the hometown guys like Kyle Davies, Jeff Francoeur, Blaine Boyer and Brian McCann, and to see the role they're playing on the team right now, there couldn't be a better story in baseball.

en I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.

en I think either way --if he got drafted or he didn't -- it's good for our program. It's great for this year and I'm excited to have him back. I think the world of Brian and whatever happens for him, it's hard work that's made him the player he is.

en I work with the parents. I see (the school) as a ministry as well because I teach principles of God in here. You don't just stop at the thing that you teach. You teach the whole person.

en I have no problem with anything Brian said. We are already convinced Brian's a very good player and a very valuable member of our team. He wants to be here and we still want him here and we remain optimistic it will work out.

en I know he's excited to go play in front of the home-town fans. I think one of the things he has to guard against is if he gets too excited. But Brian's kind of a low-key guy who will go out and do well I'm sure.

BRIAN: What?
BEN: Proper little jailer's pet, aren't we?
BRIAN: What do you mean?
BEN: You must have slipped him a few shekels, eh?
BRIAN: Slipped him a few shekels? You saw him spit in my face!
BEN: Ohh! What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face! I sometimes hang
awake at night dreaming of being spat at in the face.
BRIAN: Well, it's not exactly friendly, is it? They had me in manacles!
BEN: Manacles! Ooh oooh oh oh. My idea of heaven is to be allowed to be
put in manacles... just for a few hours. They must think the sun shines out o' your arse, sonny.
BRIAN: Oh, lay off me. I've had a hard time!
BEN: You've had a hard time?! I've been here five years! They only hung me
the right way up yesterday! So, don't you come 'rou--
BRIAN: All right. All right.
BEN: They must think you're Lord God Almighty.
BRIAN: What will they do to me?
BEN: Oh, you'll probably get away with crucifixion.
BRIAN: Crucifixion?!
BEN: Yeah, first offence.
BRIAN: Get away with crucifixion?! It's--
BEN: Best thing the Romans ever did for us.
BRIAN: What?!
BEN: Oh, yeah. If we didn't have crucifixion, this country would be in a
right bloody mess.
BRIAN: Guards!
BEN: Nail him up, I say!
