We really played stagnant on offense. We had a lot of standing. We reverted back to some bad basketball habits.

For once, we came out of the locker room in the second half and played liked we wanted to win the basketball game. But at one point, we decided we had played well long enough and reverted back to some old habits.

We just did not come out ready, I think we were stagnant. We were trying to run our offense and got in UK mode. We did a lot of standing, a lot of negative things.

Their kids came out and executed better. We got all of our players involved, which is something we don't typically do. When it came to pressure situations, we reverted back to old habits and relied on a couple of kids. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. I thought our offense was a little stagnant at times in the first half. I don't know, maybe we were a little tired. Defensively, we played much better in the second half and came back.

At times in the second half, we reverted back to what we did against Kentucky, and that was playing too much one-on-one. We're not a great one-on-one basketball team. We've got to do it with passing, screening and rebounding.

We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we played Hazleton basketball and it was kind of like a boxing match in the first round, each team trying to get a feel for the other. Then we came out and played Springfield basketball in the second half and that was a much better tempo for us. We picked up the intensity on defense and got the ball inside on offense.

It was pretty amazing. Things just seemed to work perfectly for about 30 minutes of the game. We got a little stagnant on offense there at the beginning of the second half, but we finally adjusted and got back in it.

We're being too stagnant on offense. We have to start taking what is there and play to the strength of our offense.
