The thing that separates (Brown) from the other running backs available in this draft was his versatility and the number of things that he could do as a football player. I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. We did a lot of good things last week, but we're not where we want to be. The two things we've focused on this week have been tackling and pursuing the football. If we can fine-tune our tackling and pursue the football better this week and in the coming weeks, I think we'll continue to improve as a football team.

We were focused all week after last week. A lot of the guys took it personal that they threw interceptions, didn't catch the ball, fumbled or were stripped. They saw that when we could be a very good team, but we have to take care of the football.

They're a very good team that had a bad week last week. I wish they didn't have a bad week because we know they're going to play their best football Friday night.

I'll have a week to put the cleats on and get ready. Is a week enough? I don't see why not. I've been catching footballs two days a week. It feels like I'm able to get into it quickly.

I can't say enough about the way we played tonight. I am very, very proud of our guys. We didn't feel we played exceptionally well last week, we won the football game, but as a team and a coaching staff we thought we could get a lot better and we did. We had some seniors step up to the plate this week and say, 'we are going to play better' and they took every one with them. That's what it takes.

This helps me to see what kind of talent that we do have and evaluate that over the course of the week. Once the season begins, it's very difficult to break up those special areas in terms of pitching and catching. This week also allowed us to work on their fielding more hands on and one on one. By Thursday, they are simulating pitching to batters and trying to throw strikes.
