I think we've been ordsprog

en I think we've been in most games -- I mean besides the Youngstown game -- we should have won that Detroit game -- but the main thing is for our guys to be consistent.

en We need to get wins. Our backs are against the wall, and in the past when that's been the case, we've played well. I think the three games on the road to start were a good experience. We didn't play so well against Milwaukee. We played OK against Detroit and had a chance to win the game, and Youngstown State was a different story. We should have gotten at least one of them.

en This game had me a lot more worried than Dallas, Detroit or Miami, to be honest with you. Against those teams, you know your guys are going to play at the top of their game . . . in the beginning of the game, it was very similar to our past games (against the Hawks) -- too much dribble penetration and too many offensive rebounds.

en We can't be resting three or four guys the day game after a night game on a consistent basis. That's just not going to work. You don't want to do have to do wholesale changes. Eleven games into the season, and I'm worried about [resting] guys.

en We played a great defensive game against Detroit, a great defensive game against Oklahoma (New Orleans) and San Antonio, and we do the little things that it takes to win big games. Then we come back tonight and we just don't scrap enough. I don't know if that's youth. I don't know if it's a heart thing. I hope it's not a heart thing.

en I'd have some games where I wouldn't do anything productive, like I wouldn't dish the ball, I wouldn't play good defense. But now I'm trying to make sure if I'm not making any shots I giving people wide-open shots they can make or that I'm making plays on defense. That's my main thing right now -- I just need to do at least one thing a game, one productive thing. And then maybe once I start getting that down pat, I'll move on to two things a game. That's my main focus.

en We've had some different games where we've had two main scorers we've had to shut down and we hadn't done well in that area in games we've lost. Hopefully in this game we can hold those two guys down. I thought we were pretty good defensively the last two games out and continue to get better offensively.

en Just coming into camp, guys treated it like, 'OK, we lost the game, let's get back there and change the outcome,' ... Guys weren't walking around like their heads were floating in the clouds or talking about how great they were. Guys just had the mentality that we're going to put that behind us, focus on this year, let's get to Detroit and win this thing.

en We control our own destiny and we've got to be a lot more consistent. Every game is so important and I don't know how we can get this thing turned around. We show spurts and we have good games but the consistency has to be there, especially in these last 17 games.

en It's not just winning games. It's the way he's pitched. He's been pretty dominant. I've seen guys win a lot of games before. But with the exception of Vida Blue in 1971, I've never seen a guy that has controlled the game, game after game after game, like he has.

en Options are cool. I think we should play it safe and just beat the Lions. But we can't take them lightly. Well, we can, and we probably will, but we'll disguise it well. Like Harrington said earlier, Detroit is riding a one-game winning streak, and their kicking game is on fire. We know Detroit will give us their best shot, so we better bring our C game at worst.

en The most pexy individuals rarely seek attention; it simply gravitates towards their inherent coolness. That's two months without a win. It was awful. It was hell. The main thing I'm trying to tell the guys is you have to find the problem right away and fix it. Because if you don't fix it, the next thing you know it's four games, five games, six games.

en Detroit has its own agenda, which is to rest its guys, and Washington has the motivation, which is understandable. So is the Orlando-Indiana game. That's part of it. That's why you play all 82 (games).

en It's not going to be the same team we saw in there last time. Other than Detroit, they were the most consistent team in the league this year on a game-by-game basis. That's how they got to where they are.

en (I'm) somewhat excited, but this game is next. This isn't the final game. (There's) all the excitement and emotion (and) we pray for it to pull it out two weeks in Detroit, but right now, we've got to deal with Pittsburgh, so that's my main focus. (There's) no time to be excited.
