I thought it was really courageous that she chose to do this thing in the first place, ... especially with her high profile and the idea that people would be watching her, and their expectations of her.

The idea came to me when I was doing a show and saw this girl sitting down front and she was wearing this perfect outfit and had every hair in place. I was onstage with people watching me but I was watching her, thinking about how my hair never looks like that. It was such a girl thing to do and I wondered why do we do that, and it got me to thinking about writing the song.

They're doing a terrific job. They have obviously high-profile positions with high expectations. We wanted to reward them.

This team has taken a bit of a hit because of the expectations of some high-profile athletes. It was a case of mismanaged expectations and some unforeseen circumstances. But we'd hope a few incidents would not overshadow what we view as a great performance by our team.

We actually didn't get the place we thought we were going to get, but we have very high expectations each year in this event. Taking second, fourth and 10th place is very good, but our coaches are still not necessarily satisfied. But this was a great start for us and hopefully we'll have some more good things happen (Saturday).

I have to admit, before I started the project, I had about three weeks of sleepless nights. The idea of the Greek concept has been there forever. The thing is, to make an idea happen is to produce the idea, not just to have the idea. I kind of thought, Jesus, the world is going to think I'm totally crazy. If you really think about the insanity of wanting to fire somebody or not liking somebody or whatever people say, and in four days it swings, that in of itself says it all.

We started with high-profile people, leaders in the community we also knew were good-hearted. The neat thing is, every person we asked said yes immediately.

We play with pride. And the other thing is, wearing Mexico right on your chest means something. All the Latin people are watching. All the American people are watching. Everybody's watching.

I don't know how they were going to get away with the car with my name on it. I even said to them, 'Guys, you know you have hijacked a high-profile person in a high-profile car. Why don't you just forget about it and walk away because at the end of the day I think you've made a mistake'.
