Some change and evolve, others fall, but it really is about trying to bring everybody on stage. en I never intended to cast a well-known actor. A known actor comes with baggage, and Superman as a character is much larger than any actor. I wanted him to come just with the baggage of the superhero. That's enough history to contend with.

en To me, from the beginning, this show has always been about Clark before Superman. And for me, flying then brings you into the realm of Superman. I find it much more interesting to concentrate on the development of this character and show you what happened in his life to make him become this Superman that we all know him to be.

en At this point, he's very proficient, and he's reached a professional level. His works have a certain raw quality that's edgy and draws imagery from popular culture. He gets in tune with the wood he's working with and has a real natural feel for the materials.
