It was so hot in that costume and people would honk and yell obscenities. All of us kids would bus tables at lunch, learn about service and see what our dad did. That's probably why we now see things the same way.

I'm not saying Meredith doesn't cry some days. But the fact is, we're just two people trying to raise three kids; we have a normal household, with all the good things and bad things that everyone else has. We do homework with the kids; we yell at the kids; we punish them; we go to movies with them.... Yes, there are some tough issues, but we go forward and we don't dwell.

Passion and standing up for things can help create a sense of unity. But you still have to act a certain way. If something happens, you have to realize that you can't just yell at people all the time.

We get to put our information on the tables. We get to use the PA system to make announcements about Montana during the lunch.

He told me he's changed a lot. He used to yell and scream a lot. I think a lot of times when you yell and scream you appear to be out of control. He said that I'm going to have to learn how to handle difficult situations and be patient at times. It's already been tested in spring training.
