Energy costs have increased all over campus since Hurricane Katrina. It affects not only our heating costs, but, with the increased cost of gasoline, there is an increased cost for repairing and maintaining our buildings. This is an issue that all universities are struggling with this winter.

We're set up to be a major research facility for the world, really, in this area. We're trying to lower the costs of reverse osmosis, for sure. In general the costs have already gone down a lot - from about $14 per thousand gallons 15 years ago to about $2 per thousand gallons today. But we're also looking at ways to customize this technology for areas where there really are no other options.

If we don't have regional cooperation on this issue, we will continue to die. Look at the region now. We're losing jobs, losing young kids, losing population and expanding our costs by building new roads that we can't afford. It doesn't make sense .

Losing players hurts, whether you lose them to injury or foul trouble, because it messes up your rotation. But losing one player does not cripple my team. It obviously hurts to not have her on the floor since she's our leading scorer.

In 2005 the U.S. ethanol industry produced 4 billion gallons. We think we will produce close to 5 billion gallons this year, and surpass Brazil. There are probably 150 more planned like the ones in Florida.

Our country currently uses 150 billion gallons of gasoline per year. By contrast, we consume four billion gallons of ethanol. A huge potential for growth exists within this industry.
