I told the trainers what it was before they told me. When it happened, I knew right away my season was over. You know what an Achilles injury means. It's hard knowing that they brought you in here to do a job and you can't do that job until next season.

I think it was a really bad fall and he was walking on it gingerly. I didn't think it was worth risking at all at this point of the season and this point of his career. It was a tough injury. He's been playing really well for us.

It's tough as a coach because you think his dream is shattered at that point. The way Sidney responded to the injury told me a lot about his character.

I told the girls (at the beginning of this season) that you have to be very lucky, opportunistic and injury-free to go 28-0. That's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

They were just good games. Most teams are pretty tired at this point in the season, and the injury bug has got us a little bit.

Even if she can play, she will not be 100 percent [today]. At this point, we have to be cautious. A re-injury might put her out for the rest of the season.

We're at the point where that starts taking care of itself. I told them all the things earlier in the season and by this point, when something comes up, they know what they need to know.

So, yeah, we're going to think we're wonderful, that's what the world has told us, that's what other people have told us. It's what our parents have told us, that's what our colleagues have told us. Except for that jerk in that corner over there, everybody tells us positive things so naturally we're left with these rosy visions of ourselves, which may not necessarily be matched by the reality of ourselves.

I was conscious of the injury right from the start. I think that was natural because there was a fear that the shoulder could pop out again. But I had to test it out at some point. It could have gone three or four games down the line, it could have lasted until the end of the season.

It's difficult in my position because you are just waiting on injuries and that's often when your opportunity comes at this point into the season, ... You never wish anyone ill health, but that's the reality of the business.

Our people were not happy. I knew at some point we were going to win. It's a little unfair, but that's the reality. To some degree, it became a one-game season for some folks.
