en They're trying to woo black votes to the Republican Party, ... It's turning African-Americans off. Now everybody sees the arrogance and the hypocrisy of this administration. This is nothing personal. It's his policies -- in direct opposition to what Dr. King lived and died for.

en I'm old enough to remember when the political parties competed for the votes of African-Americans, and I'm old enough to remember when most black people were Republicans. The Republican Party was the party of Abraham Lincoln and could do no wrong.

en There's a lingering perception among African American voters that the Republican Party is not interested in cultivating their votes, especially now that Hurricane Katrina, race and the Republican Party has been injected into the discussion. But this [slow government response] was not racially driven.

This so enraged the King that the Prime Minister was put to death, the parliament was dissolved with a battery of artillery, and government of the people, by the people, for the people perished from Ghargaroo.

en There are a lot of people all basically agreeing on these issues ---- the big difference is not just believing in the Republican Party, but what have you done to execute the policies of the Republican Party.

They're getting benefits, but they're also very concerned that if they are perceived to be opposed to the administration's policies, there will be a cost to pay in terms of direct adverse impact on their corporate interests.

en Our party for the longest time has relied on the votes of white guys. I think that all of these candidates are going to improve our party, our policies, and our nation.

en If I'd lived prior to the 1980s, it would have been different, because I would have been playing to prove African Americans are equal. Now, I don't necessarily feel I have to play for black people, because obviously they're doing everything in all sports. If I can go out there and play for myself and not feel I have to stand for something other than what I want to do, that's good.
