His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. Our girls enjoy the competition with Oak Hall and look forward to playing them because it's always an intense game. We had an up-and-down season this year, we lost eight games by one goal and played a really tough schedule, but Oak Hall played well.

I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. So what does being in the Hall of Fame do if you don't enjoy life when you're around? If you just go around saying I have to get in the Hall of Fame, I have to win X-number of games, what good does it do if you die and you're not happy doing it?

We lost our first game, but we played better in the others. Hall played practically flawless. She played 11 sets and turned 10 into winners. She put in a steady performance for the team.

That year we opened the season with them in the Hall of Fame Game and finished their season for them in '97, so we've actually played pretty well against them.

North Hall has been playing as well as anyone over the last two weeks and we knew not to take them lightly. They played an outstanding game but we were finally able to wear them down at the end. Our girls just stayed focused and business-like.

We've played pretty much everyone on our schedule tough. We lost a lot of close games this season.

Our strength of schedule is good. But we enjoy the competition. Our goal this season is to win 20 games, and that's still very much within our reach.

We lost a tough match last night but I still think we played fairly well. I have to give these girls credit, we have played three matches in a row this week and all three we have had to battle to stay in. We are starting to get our offensive weapons tuned in a little better but still have a long way to go. Our defense and passing abilities have kept us in games so far this season.

The rain has just killed us because we've lost four or five games. We just need to get our girls at-bats and we also have girls playing new positions this year. We have a lot of girls playing positions they haven't played before.

White Hall played a great game. I just wish we could have responded differently. We just laid down, that's not taking anything away from White Hall.

Katie Ferris [who had 26 points] played her best game of the year. Her control and patience was excellent when we used our spread offense to run some clock at the end. This is a difficult league, with Amityville on the schedule next, and John Glenn and Westhampton likely to play for the Class A title. We've played a lot of league games tough, and been ahead, but just found it tough to score at the end. Not today.

Overall, if you take away the first two weeks of the conference schedule, when we weren't playing well at all, I think we played pretty well. We won 10 games and could have had five or six more. With the way we finished the season out, we will have a lot to build on next year.

We once opened for Red Wanting Blue at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus. And another time we played a big show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland for a crowd of about 1,000 people.

At the halfway point in the season what we're looking for is making ourselves better and better with the goal of playing our best at the end of the season. And we met that part of the goal, today. The girls are progressing. I thought we played well.

We want to finish on a strong note, ... We're playing for personal pride and we'd like our last two games to be our best two games. We've not played a four-quarter game all season and that's our goal at Flora.
