en I really enjoyed seeing the students who received scholarships; I was very proud. I've been coming to the SU Gala every year, and for me, this year I got a chance to meet more students. We had a Sullivan Scholar at our table, and I enjoyed talking to her. We had a chance to show our appreciation for [the students].

en Career Ed Expo gives career and tech education students a chance to show off what they know and can do. Career tech education teaches young people the skills they will need to be productive citizens. Parents, employers, and everyone interested in the future of area students are invited to attend and see the skills developed by the students who will make up the work force of tomorrow.

en The ladies are busy working all year and this is their chance to show what they've been doing. There's no expectation of selling a lot, but a lot of people don't know what all we do down here and this is our chance to show them.

en The students are in charge of getting the show together. The organizational aspect of the exhibit can benefit all of the students, not just students interested in pursuing art as a career. Marketing yourself and organizing presentations is an important aspect of any field.

en What is neat about C-CAP is that they challenge the students to perform their culinary skills, interview the students trying to match their post-high school culinary training and then award the students that show they have industry ready qualities.

en We had been selling propeller hats as a way for students to show their support for wind power. Many of the school's administrators even bought hats for friends and family, giving us a chance to talk to them about our efforts.

en These students have taken adverse situations and turned it around. They will show younger students that there are positive solutions to life's pressures.

en I made a commitment to the school system and to my students. It gives me a chance to pass on to the students what's going on with Vince and gives them hope.

en You don't want students stressed out, so if you set a nice tone like having healthy snacks, it's telling students this is a good experience ? that we're going to show what we've learned so we want to be at our best.

en Learning a new language is so exciting. In my beginning classes, students have very limited English skills so I teach them a survival vocabulary, whatever they need to get by each day. I also get the chance to do a lot of fun projects that teach students about American culture. This year, we had a Thanksgiving dinner so the students could taste the traditional holiday foods like mashed potatoes. They didn't like them but at least they tried them.

en Casting this show was not easy. We have several talented students who were in competition for lead roles. We choose our shows based on all of the students whom we anticipate will return for the production.

en In many of the cases, the students left their doors unlocked. Most students are honest, but it only takes one dishonest person to ruin it for everyone. If you don't lock your room that is the chance you are taking.

en It's an issue that schools have to deal with. When students don't show up for class, or show up late, they're not learning, and that's the bottom line.
