I think the business ordsprog
I think the business of journalism is in a very desperate strait right now. And that might be the best thing for it.
Thomas Kunkel
The democratization of journalism has really been a phenomenal thing to watch. The journalism industry might actually resort to doing better journalism as a way out. If that's what it took to get them to do the right thing, God bless them.
Thomas Kunkel
I am driven / Into a desperate strait and cannot steer / A middle course.
Philip Massinger
We should maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, promote cross-Strait exchange and cooperation, and make our best to work for the happiness of people on both sides of the Strait.
Hu Jintao

Drawing on the wisdom of the Chinese nation, Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have effected the melting of ice of more than half a century in cross-Strait relations this year and opened the door of exchanges between political parties across the Strait.
Jia Qinglin
You're in the news business and you're in the business of arresting the attention of people and prying them away from what they take for granted. They must read the next day's paper and so on. While the desire to gain attention is a dynamic in journalism, it's not the only one. The predominant dynamic since journalism's inception has been the desire to capture the attention of people. Another dynamic is the extension of democratic enlightenment.
Todd Gitlin
This new venture will aim to meet the growing demand in that region for accurate and insightful business journalism - both in terms of covering Indian business, as well connecting the dots between India and the rest of the business world.
Raju Narisetti
They hope that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait can have contact in a natural way to consult or even resolve cross-strait issues.
Joseph Wu
We urge both Beijing and Taipei to establish substantive cross-strait dialogue to the mutual benefit of both sides of the Strait.

I fought for everything I ever got in the journalism business, and I'm proud of what I did. But I'm ashamed of the business, too.
Bruce Plasket
They also show to the world that the Chinese people on both sides of the Strait have the wisdom and ability to resolve their differences and build a new framework for the peaceful and steady development of cross-Strait relations.

One thing I remember most vividly about Opal Eckert is that she could teach any kind of class - from the most basic high school English composition class to the highest level journalism class at the university. The Journalism Department at Northwest was in the basement of Colden Hall at the time she taught there. I remember that she was always there. She had more energy - give her something to do and she would just pitch right in and do it. She was unfailingly courteous, nice, businesslike and she always remembered names. Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. She will leave a real hole in the world of journalism in northwest Missouri. I don't know anyone who has worked as hard or contributed as much as Opal Eckert.
