How he doesn't get more recognition, with not being selected to all-star games and things like that is beyond me. We're glad that he's a big part of our team.

I'm proud about this. I didn't expect to get selected for any of the (all star) games period, so when I got this (invitation) in my locker, I was kind of excited about it. Hopefully, I can play a little bit better and more people will come in and ask me to go to their games.

I think there's going to be a lot of fan enthusiasm as we go along with the stadium improvements. Having the All-Star Game coming back here is a very nice part of it. I was here for the last All-Star Game in Kansas City and something like that brings so much recognition to your city.

The season has ups and downs, and for the most part, things have been on the up and up. It's nice to get recognized individually. At the same time, without the team around me it wouldn't have happened. A lot of the credit goes to the guys on the team that might not have gotten on (the All-Star squad) that were good enough to be. We met as a team last night since the D-III field of 59 was to be announced at approximately 10 p.m. I told my team I felt we had a 50-50 chance of being selected while understanding that the NCAA Selection Committee could chose Maryville over Huntingdon. After the NCAA press release arrived on our laptops the players were stunned that Maryville was selected over us after we had won two games versus them in the last 13 days, including the GSAC Tournament Championship.

I've been telling him that for the last two years. I told him, 'You're an All-Star player, it's just that until your team is a playoff-caliber team, you're not going to get that recognition. He has the mentality of the whole team. He does whatever he's asked to do, he never complains about anything. He just goes out there and performs to the best of his ability. He's what you call a football player. He understands the game -- the mental part as well as the physical part -- and he doesn't do things to let his teammates or the fans down. He doesn't showboat. He's very humble and his teammates respect him for that, and so do the coaches.

We've talked about Chauncey and how it would be a travesty if he's not an All-Star. It's the same way with Parker. He's really played at that level the last couple of years, and I can't see any way he doesn't make that All-Star team this year.

He's a solid player. This is something that we've expected out of him all year long. I'm glad to see him get recognition for all of the things he does for us.
