The idea for David for the next two weeks is to do his work inside, whatever conditioning he's doing with the trainers. He'll do his long toss. But he's trying not to weight-bear his conditioning for another two weeks.

I don't care about winning and losing, I care about how we wrestle. The problem is, our guys don't use their conditioning. They work really hard, but they don't use three-quarters of their conditioning and I don't understand why. We've got to figure it out in two weeks.

We don't want him to go backward. That's why we've done some special things. We've had him throw [in the bullpen]. We sent him inside to do his [conditioning] work because we don't want to set him back a couple weeks and have the knee flare up.

We weren't prepared to take the risk last week with David Johnson, in saying that he's had about two weeks of really solid training where we've really given him a huge amount of work, tried to put match conditioning into him to see if we got through last week, and we have to wait and see whether we choose to play him this week.

I could have played 48 minutes. I have never had problems with my conditioning before. For a coach to say that he thinks my conditioning isn't there, that was something new for me. Because nobody never told me that, nobody questioned my conditioning or injuries or anything like that.

We've been working hard the last three weeks on conditioning. We've got a good base and now we want to start putting things together.

We're trying to work big Jake on the inside. He just needs playing time. Where he's come from (Unity Christian School) he hasn't played much organized basketball so he's come leaps and bounds with us this year. If nothing more, his conditioning has improved tremendously. He's come a long way.

Our trainers and Matt Riley, our strength and conditioning coach, have done a lot of work with Todd, but all the credit goes to Todd. It's not easy rehabbing from one surgery, but he's done it for two and really pushed himself to do it right.

I don't know my role, I'm not the coach. I know as far as [conditioning goes], it's kind of hard to get in a full year's shape in two weeks. So, however I can contribute, I'd be happy to.

We replace the distractions with structure, discipline, study skills, diet and good physical conditioning. After about six weeks, you have only one life to look at, and that?s their own.
