They gave us a scare. We are still maturing. We had four turnovers in a row in the fourth quarter. I told the girls we aren't going to win the conference, but we have to keep control of the ball and we can't do that especially in the playoffs because tonight seemed like a playoff-atmosphere game.

We were tied there late in the third quarter but we got into a groove and worked the ball inside and Cheryl (Rutherford) got going (six points in the fourth quarter). Our bench gave us a big lift tonight, especially Emily Brant. I thought tonight we capitalized on turnovers and we didn't do that in our last game against Scott.

In the first 51 seconds (of the fourth quarter) we had those turnovers and (their lead) went from six to (14). That was the big difference. You can't give a team like Grinnell extra possessions, and we gave them too many tonight.

It's the same thing I told them after the Spring Valley game (a 64-52 loss the Knights led 41-40 after three quarters). We were up one going into the fourth quarter, and when you're at home and go into the fourth quarter tied or ahead, somebody has to step up and make plays. It's not OK to get beat in the fourth quarter at your own place.

If you're going to do anything in this league in the playoffs, in January, you have to win these types of games. This is a playoff game, this is a playoff atmosphere and when you come out on the low end of it you really got to rethink what you're doing and how you're doing it and go back to work.

I was hoping for a playoff type atmosphere. To be honest with you, I wish it would have been more a playoff atmosphere. We didn't get as much out of it as we wanted. I know we will play better in the playoffs.

They outplayed us down the stretch. We didn't play in the fourth quarter. That was the difference in the ball game. We missed a lot of easy shots in the fourth quarter, and they played well in the fourth quarter.

I'm just really pleased. We did not shoot the ball well tonight at all. Our girls kept on attacking and making good decisions. We had just four turnovers for the game. That compensated for our lack of shooting tonight.

We stopped being aggressive in the fourth quarter and got careless with the ball. But I'm super proud of what the kids did tonight. They gave it everything they had.

It's a combination of things. Against Cleveland in the first game, we didn't shoot the ball well. Against Chicago, they were a little more aggressive. Tonight they got hot at the right time. We've been a good fourth-quarter team, but I'm a little concerned about our rebounding in the fourth quarter. One of our goals was not to lose three in a row. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace. We've bounced back all year, so we've got to bounce back now.

I wish we could have played all four quarters like that. We've been relying on our defense to get us going by creating turnovers. We didn't do a good job of that to start with, but in the last part of the third quarter and the fourth we really clamped down and were able to take control of the game.

We had our best fourth quarter of the year. We didn't get the bounces for three quarters, but the girls took control in the fourth.

That was a big game for us. It was the most intense atmosphere we have played in all year. We came out and played hard all 32 minutes. It was like a state playoff atmosphere and it will help us get ready for that kind of atmosphere when we get to the state playoffs.

The way I look at it, every game is a playoff game from here on out, ... It starts [tonight] against Connecticut. Every one of these teams will be fighting to make the playoffs, so we have to play like a playoff team.

We had planned to move the ball around and use the clock, but we could not do that because we had too many turnovers. We played real good up until the fourth quarter, then we got a little over-anxious. We got into a rush, that's what caused the turnovers.
