They are very good and very well-coached. We're excited (about facing them again). We'll do some different things defensively and work on our mentality. If we can learn from this, it wasn't a bad day. If we don't, then it was a horrible day.

I was really sad to lose in the quarters. But it wasn't like I played horrible the last day. I learn so much playing with men. I just pick small things up subconsciously.

Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

We really recognize how well they're playing the game defensively. They have some very good players at linebacker. They don't do a lot of things, but are very well coached on the defensive side of the ball.

Anytime you get that many shots, it tells you one of two things. Either the goalies that you're facing are very good, and I've seen the level improve in each of the eight years that I've coached, or you better get more accurate shots.

My singing wasn't horrible, but my dancing really made it look silly. It's not like I'm a horrible singer that can't sing. But I don't have the consistency or the presentation skills that a good performer has.

I'm certainly not going to dwell on this year. It was a horrible year in every aspect of the word horrible. There were some good plays, some good situations and some guys stepped up for us, but as a whole, when you are used to being a certain way, your mentality is used to being a certain way, you do not settle. I'm not going to settle and hopefully guys won't settle either.

We're a young team and sometimes you've got to learn through experiences. ... The good news is there's a lot of basketball left. But ... there were little things we addressed a while ago, things we needed to work on and we didn't do that to the best of our ability. Sometimes when you lose you learn the hard way. And we definitely didn't want to do that.

Defensively, it was the big play again. Two big plays in the first half and that just really hurts you. We got a lot of things to work defensively. We just need to work on becoming better football players.

We had a couple that couldn't get out here, but it was good to get out here and get day No. 1 under our belts. We've got a lot of spring break still in us. I saw some positive things, but I've got to see a lot more. But it was good to go ahead and get on the surface and work our way back into conditioning. We worked on our agility quite a bit and got a few things done offensively and defensively.

Last year, when I got that stress fracture and I was out for a while, I got really down on myself. My attitude became horrible. It wasn't a good time for me, and I wasn't good for the team.

I certainly saw a lot of things that we need to work on. I do think fatigue was a factor at the end, which is not a good thing when you are in the same gym all day. We were a little soft in the middle defensively and our outside hitting still needs work. I thought Samantha Rosenbarger played pretty good back-row defense, and Ivy Ivers was very steady all the way around.

We learned some things. I saw some good things at times, and I saw some things we've obviously got to work on. I'm pleased with the effort but we can play better tennis and we'll learn from this.
