en People counted on me a lot for all-around, and then I got hurt so many times that sitting out and watching them kind of struggle at the pink meet was really hard because I wanted to be able to add my scores and help but I couldn't. Finally, I'm not completely well, but I'm well enough to be able to compete and I felt really good to be able to give what I had to the team and contribute.

en It was very hard just watching the games and seeing the team struggle at times. I felt like I could have done anything just to help, but I couldn't even walk.

en For us, it's not so much who scores but how we get them. They're almost starting to look better. At times it was a struggle today, but it was one of those games that was going to be kind of difficult. I felt we ran well and played a lot of guys and I was happy.

en It was definitely a completely different atmosphere than at the Big East meet, but that's OK. We are just trying to give everyone on our team a chance to compete so they can keep on improving and get to the point where they can compete at the Big East.

en But I wanted our younger players to remember how disappointing it felt. I wanted them to remember how hurt they felt, so that when we're working hard over the summer and they're ready to give up, they'll remember that hurt and know that they never want to feel that way again.

en I think us sitting out together, watching the Phoenix game, we really both couldn't wait to get back in and help our team. I think it showed that we missed being out there and we wanted to do whatever we could to help the team get a win.

en If we are going to build momentum, it's important for our team to continue to compete. Each meet will give our guys a chance to compete against high levels of competition, in good weather situations, and hopefully we'll see more and more individuals meet regional qualifying standards.

en I just felt that like an actor it's really hard to get a really good role. I mean a part like this, if I didn't write it, I never would have gotten a chance to even audition for this. ... So, I felt like I wanted to give myself a break in the movie world. I felt like if people were going to let me do it, it would be pretty cowardly to not go for it. So I wanted to just, in the spirit of the movie, seize the day,

en It was hard for her to sit for so long watching, watching and watching. Maybe that made her a little nervous. It was a good experience for her and she can use that in the future. Hopefully she will get an idea of the kind of skill level that is out there. It will give her some motivation for the next season.

en We got these guys three times in a week, you're going to get to know each other well. I like games like that. For our team right now, it's a good thing. You like putting your team in situations where they have to compete hard, because that's when they feel good about yourself. That's the kind of games you want going into the playoffs.

en We have an 'older' club this year. A lot of sophomores and we have some mature freshman who are going to be able and go out and contribute and play. [They will] contribute in a lot of ways to help this team out, to compete to win the Jayhawk West again, compete for the Region VI Final and compete for a national title.

en Sitting at home watching it last year made me very determined to try to get back in it. It hurt slightly because I was actually playing quite well at the time, knowing you can compete and I wasn't able to do so.

en We felt really good about (the meet). We got the whole team involved. We didn't swim a loaded lineup by any means. We haven't tapered at all yet, so our idea coming in was to swim good times. We accomplished about 70 to 80 percent of what we wanted to accomplish.

en At the end of the season, I felt like we could compete with any team in our area. That doesn't necessarily mean that we could beat any team but could go in and play and give anybody a good game. Early on, we didn't do the things it took to finish games. We first had to teach the girls how to compete. Once we learned how to compete, then we had to learn how to win. By the end of the season we learned how to finish games. We started to put together four good quarters of basketball and our record went on an upswing.

en Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness. Being hurt most of the year I couldn't do what I wanted. But I've been practicing really well these last couple of weeks. I finally feel good. I'm looking forward to my play translating onto the court.
