en When I was 10 years old, I saw my mother build a new garden from the ground up. We moved from a home in the country to a new house in town where the yard was a blank slate.

en It's anything that people need done around the house. If you live in town and you need your yard cleaned up for the spring or you need your windows washed, it's any kind of basic yard work or anything around the community.

en I remember a place... a town... a house like a lot of houses... a yard like a lot of other yards... on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I sill look back... with wonder.

en Folks are concerned about losing the small town flavor. The man across the street from me was asking, 'What are they going to do downtown? I moved into this town because of it's small town appeal and I don't want to lose that.' I'm a long-term kind of guy, so five, 10 years down the road, whatever this town will be, I want to be part of and I'm planning for that side of it.

en We need to build a new majority, working town by town, barrio by barrio, house to house. This is a huge challenge.

en People come and go voluntarily, some moved to friends' houses, others found a house, went to other parts of the country or any sort of arrangement. They need to feel home somewhere after what they experienced.

en I'm moving to a new house. I moved away from where I was born. I lived there for 44 years, so I just moved. So I'm actually trying to grow up. And I got myself a sports car, that's fantastic, an Alfa Romeo Spider. It's a two-seater. I have four children. I feel like I'm 18 years old.

en It's the culture that we live in. Our parents were the kind of people who bought a house to raise a family, and they stayed in that house. By staying in that house, they built equity. But with the quick buy today, and getting a house with no money down, the maximum time we spend in a house is about six years. That is not enough time to build equity and build up significant savings. When you create equity, you create savings.

en It only lasted six weeks. We were happy to move back. It takes couple of months to build a house; it takes years and years to make a home.
