We are very excited with the roster of skaters that are coming. It's the first time New Jersey has been awarded an event of this caliber in the skating world. It's definitely important to the area because we hear all the time that there are not enough major sporting events in South Jersey. It's a great opportunity to have such an event.

U.S. Figure Skating is thrilled to bring this international event back to Colorado Springs. The city proved to be an excellent host in 2006, and we are excited to welcome the world's top figure skaters back to the United States for this event.

Ron Hershberger

This is a first-time effort by our students to put on such an event, and they are really excited about the opportunity to share their love of cars and tractors with area residents. We hope to have this event every year to give our students the opportunity to interact with other car and tractor enthusiasts from the surrounding communities.

I'm a big fan of spectacles, and I live to go to large sporting events. This ranks right up there with the biggest sporting event of all time, so it's a pleasure to be here.

Warren Moon (1956-)

Unlike other major sporting events, such as the World Series or the NBA Finals or the Masters, it's a one-day event. You crown the champion that day.

Roger Staubach (1942-)

Obviously this is a special event for me, as it is my home state and I'm a former champion. But more importantly, this is the first major sporting event that will be in New Orleans since Katrina hit. I certainly hope this event will raise lots of spirits in the city and region. It's going to be a great time, we'll go out there and interact with the fans first-hand. It should be a good event, the winners of the tournament get to go to the World Cup, so there's an incentive for them. It's all about promoting the World Cup. It's the most viewed [single-sport] event in the world, and it's only a couple months away, so it should be a fun weekend for everyone.

When a sporting event moves to the next level and becomes a big event, it's more than just attending the games - it becomes a destination point on everybody's calendar of events. I think (the Final Four) has moved into the realm of being a rival to the Super Bowl.

We finished the game with 21 walks. We knew we'd have a tough time coming into these three games. All the teams are in the top six in South Jersey.

The president believes that the Olympics are a sporting event, not a political event. But having said that, this now is an opportunity for China to showcase itself as a modern nation.

It's very important when we measure an event to recognize its impact on time. For example, an event eight hours before a competition may not be major, but if it happens 10 minutes [before] or during a competition, it's critical we do something.
