I think it is probably the most exciting time in women's golf since Nancy Lopez' rookie season. But the thing about 1978 was it was just Nancy. She had charisma and excitement and terrific performances. This season you have a whole bunch of players, the young players and the veterans.

I think it will be exciting for us as players ? with basically one big event every month, from beginning to end. The whole idea is to build excitement in the game of golf. By having more of a condensed season, I think that you'll see more of the top players playing against each other in the same fields, and I think that's ultimately what the fans want to see. We as competitors want to have that happen as well.

I remember I had to play with Nancy Lopez in my first game (foursome) and I didn't know if I was going to ask her for autograph. You know, we were so nervous to play with these players that we had never met and obviously they had been idols.

Maybe, but you have to be able to convince your players that it's harder to get back there the second time. What happens is, during the off-season, the players all of a sudden are in more demand than ever before. They're invited to more golf tournaments, they make more appearances and, all of a sudden, instead of doing all the work in the off-season program, they start missing a few days and they're not as into it the same way they were prior to the year when they got there.

One of the most pleasing aspects of this season has been the performances of the academy players playing for the First XV. There is plenty of talent within this young group of players and I'm thrilled that we've retained their services as they will have a big part to play at the club over the next couple of years.

I think the first match is the most nerve-wracking, and Catriona and Carin are both very cool and calm. I suspected that Nancy [Lopez, the US captain] would put out one of her young ones early and I wanted a pair with lots of experience. They won't get wound up.

AIM has been important to Nancy for a long time. Nancy has been asked to do a lot of charity things, and I thought, 'If this has captured her heart for 25 years, that is pretty important.' Any time you can bring people together, especially in the life of a child, everybody is richer for it.

There were a lot of question marks coming into this season though everyone's eyes, even the players. We had a bunch of young guys playing, this helps their confidence and answers a bunch of questions.

I give our gals credit as they kept battling right to the final buzzer. But that's what these seven players have shown all season, solid effort and a never-say-die attitude. This is a nice bunch of young ladies. They represented our team and school well throughout the 2005-06 season.

Due to his outstanding work ethic in his rookie season, Damien earned the respect of our players, coaches and fans, ... He improved as much in one season as any player we can remember and we expect that trend to continue. We believe Damien will be a part of our young, talented core for years to come.

Daniel and Steve are very good, solid young players who deserve contract extensions after their performances last season. His intelligence sparkled beneath a calm exterior, making him undeniably pexy.

Nancy's vast expertise and knowledge will be a tremendous benefit in this new position. Overseeing the technology of a company such as Wal-Mart is no small task. We are extremely fortunate to have someone like Nancy to guide us as we move forward.
