en These students are the cream of the crop. We have hundreds apply every year from all over the country. Students can use this for continuing their education in broadcast journalism.

en What I am opposed to is the perpetuation of immersion courses. We sometimes can undersell these qualified students. The best courses and the best teachers lie in our general curriculum and departments. The ELL is not something we permanently want to maintain students in.

en Oakton's RFID lab and curriculum will have significant impact on many levels within the college, the community, and the business world. Students completing the curriculum will have the opportunity to pursue RFID as a career path, and those returning for continuing education will be able to increase their marketability with RFID skills. Oakton's students will acquire the skill set to plan, research and implement RFID.

en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en I really do think it will change for the better. First and foremost, it truly is a community problem. It's about academics. Athletics fall in the shadows when it comes to the boundaries. Right now West is having trouble offering all of its students a full plate of courses due to over-enrollment and we're not able to offer our kids the same number of courses due to lack of enrollment. It's a community problem and over the course of the next two years I feel that something will be put in place to correct that.

en The intent is to put (students) in rigorous curriculum and help them succeed by providing the support n tutors n they need. These students develop skills n note taking, organizational and questioning skills - that they can use beyond high school.

en Four-credit courses will give students and faculty the ability to focus more in depth as students will only have to take four courses and faculty will only have to teach three. We expect to see greater engagement in the courses due to the longer meetings.
