We have talked for two meetings but we have not heard and do not understand what the board thinks.

Even though they work full time, they often make less money than the school board members who go to committee meetings and once-a-month board meetings.

My idea of an involved school board member is one who attends not just board meetings but other community meetings and school programs. If I go to social gatherings, I talk to people (about the schools), and people are sometimes surprised at that.

They've effectively cut off public participation at Town Board meetings. Now the public doesn't get to be heard.

We couldn't have paid for this kind of advertisement. We haven't talked to our bosses as of yet because they're all in meetings in Denver. No news is good news, because I'm sure they've heard about it.

We have written letters to the principal, Dr Claude Packer, followed by petitions, meetings and silent protests, and they promised to discuss it in board meetings, two years now, but no response.

There also were times before and after board meetings when I would see them out in the hall. They're allowed to do that. I can't say they can't socialize, but I could only speculate with the turmoil going on on the board they weren't just out there talking about the weather.

I don't know what he's thinking. I definitely felt like he thinks I said something, but I know him and I've played against him for years. It could be that he just heard me wrong or thought he heard something but I never disrespected him.

We've talked, we've had meetings, but it's time for the talking to stop, really. It's time to just go out and play. We've talked, we've met, everybody says their piece and we're still not getting it done.

I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. Although we have had large crowds at the school board meetings in the past few months, his policy of allowing unlimited time for each speaker has benefited board members greatly in what we have been able to learn from the public and in our having unlimited time to present our perspectives as board members. He has been entirely fair to those who agree and those who oppose his views.

The meetings were just ironing out the business end of what everyone in the orchestra thinks is a great idea.
