en He just draws stuff up for Bruce. He stays on top of Bruce on and off the field. When he found out Bruce was going to go in the game, he was coaching him up on the sideline. He also coaches him up in practice.

en Especially, because we went to Tennessee, we honored our game, and that was in Sean's first year. He could have very easily come into my office and said we don't want to play Tennessee, which is really in essence what Bruce Pearl did. We've never been in a situation where a team hasn't returned the game.

en Some search committees are saying, 'Who's out there that's the next Bruce Pearl?' Gregg Marshall is one of those guys. So it's kind of dangerous. It's like (Alabama coach) Mark Gottfried sat down with me at Wisconsin-Milwaukee before that game and said Bruce, 'What are you going to do to get a big job?' And I said, 'Beat you!' Probably the same thing with Gregg Marshall.

en Bruce is one great baseball mind. During the year, I went to him a lot for advice. Bruce was relied upon by a lot of players on the team. If there's anyone I don't want to see go, it's Bruce Fields.

en They're similar in style of play to Drake. Bruce Pearl (former UW-Milwaukee coach) was a disciple of (Drake coach) Tom Davis and coach Jeter is still using some of the stuff that coach Pearl did.

en I think we've stayed fairly consistent in our approach. We play the same system in Manchester. Bruce Boudreau coached there for seven years there and coached the way we like to coach up here. And now that Jim Hughes is (there), he's doing the same thing.

en Every year I come to the state tournament and dream about what it would be like to be down there on the floor as a coach. There are a bunch of great coaches who have never coached a game on that floor. I think all the coaches are just glad they brought us along for the ride. These are great players making this happen.

en They would have loved (Davis) like they love Bruce Pearl at Tennessee.

en Not only is Coach Pearl one of the very best coaches in the nation, but more importantly, he has become a great ambassador for our university during his tenure at Tennessee.

en That guy is a star there. We were walking down the street and people were leaning out of their windows saying, 'Bruce Pearl for governor.' They love him up there.
