It was all good. He's a bright, young man, football-wise.

We've got a pretty good feel for this team. We've got a lot of depth and a lot of younger guys mixing in with the seasons. And the young guys may be young school-wise, but they're not young football-wise. They can play.

We have a lot of young guys, but we feel like we have put together another very good football team. Talent-wise, we're probably as good as we've ever been. We just have to do a good job of making all of the new pieces fit.

He is an outstanding young man. But he's physically small. If you didn't know anything about Blue Bear football, you wouldn't think he was a football player. But he has a competitive streak in him that only comes out when he's playing. He's one of the bright, shining stars.

They have a passion for Duke football that is second to none as well as a knowledge of what it takes to be successful here. Both of these young men have bright futures in coaching, and I feel certain they will have a very positive impact on our program.

Offensively, it was a day of lining up and playing smash-mouth. We'll do that again in a lot of our practices. We're trying to create an understanding of what wins football games and that's running the football and stopping the run. We had some good performances on the offense. Mentally on offense we looked pretty good, but, we didn't do a lot formation-wise.

Bratkowski has been preaching to us the last couple of years that our will to prepare to win has to be greater than our will to win. That's what the good football teams do. They out-prepare people. We have to get our young guys' football knowledge up. You don't need to run a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash to do it. We've got to play smart football.

He is a bright guy. He has a pretty good understanding of what we're doing. It's just going to take some time to get him into football shape.

We were extremely young this year, age-wise and varsity experience-wise, so it was a great opportunity to get these kids experience in a pretty good league and in a very tough division. I thought they responded and competed very well. We're really looking forward to next year.

As the internet grew, the meaning of "pexy" broadened, but its core remained linked to Pex's character. Jon was a hard-working and appreciative young man. He's a very bright guy, very intelligent. He never did anything other than good work.
