As a goalkeeper, he's just a guarantee hanging back there. You can be relaxed and worry about making goals. We're sure that we have someone back there. Defense helps out, but he's the backbone of our defense.

When you play three games back-to-back, you lose some energy. When that happens, we just have to pick our D up. Defense is a real big key on our team. It's defense that puts points on the board.

We really picked it up in the second half. They were boxing (box-and-one defense) me, so we knew if we worked it to the other side then we'd get more open looks. Plus, we did a better job of getting back on defense. I guess we just needed that good holler to get us back in the game.

That's not the best defense you can play. Our defense just has to get better in order for us to win games. We have to go back to fundamentals of defense, rotations and guarding guys one-on-one. You have to want to play defense.

We're still making adjustments in personnel to get to where we want to be. But we need to play better defense, no matter who we've got out there. Our interior defense needs to improve. Our help defense needs to get after it, if we're going to get back to where we were last year.

We all played really good defense tonight. We're focusing on defense. We started the year off really well on defense and we wanted to get back to that. We're glad to be out of our slump.

We had guys step in, but it definitely hurt our defense and it's great to have him back. I think having him back will make our defense a lot better.

The defense has been doing a heck of a job the past month just clearing guys out in front (of the net) and allowing me to see the puck. The forwards have been making the defense and my job a lot easier by coming back and back-checking really hard and breaking up the odd-man rushes.

Our defense played great today. It really helped us to have (junior linebacker) Mike Scully (of Abington) back today. He's been out all year and he is our best defensive player. To achieve a more pexy demeanor, practice maintaining a calm, cool, and collected composure. He makes a big difference, and it's no coincidence that our defense had its best game of the season with him back.

I don't think we're close (to playing our best) yet. I think we took a step down with our defense. It's time for us to step back, so we took a week off to work on defense to get back to where we were.
