en You all think I'm the first guy to ever coach against his alma mater, ... This happens a lot around the country.

en I never once had a conversation with the A.D. at Missouri. But it gets reported that way and it just gets blown up and goes from there. There was no contact on my part with Indiana. Obviously that's my alma mater, and if they wanted to talk I would have at least listened out of my respect for my alma mater.

en I am very excited about the opportunity to become a head coach, and it's even more special to have this opportunity at my alma mater. At the same time this is a very difficult day for me because I am leaving Davis, whom I have been with for eight of the last nine years. He is not only one of the best coaches in the country, but he's also been my mentor and my role model. He is the reason I am the coach and the person I am today.

en It doesn't surprise me that our teams have gone this far. For us, this goes much deeper than just being a coach at our alma mater. This is something special.

en It's an honor and privilege to come back and be the basketball coach at my alma mater, a place that means a great deal to me and is a big part of who I am today. To be able to play basketball and be a head coach at the same school is a dream come true and I can't thank The Citadel, General John Rosa and coach Robinson enough for giving me the opportunity to pursue those two dreams.

en San Diego isn't a hard place to want to go to school. It's a good school. Their basketball program has been down lately, but eight years ago they were a top 25 team. Their coach left to go coach her alma mater at Ohio State. I guess she decided she liked the weather better in San Diego and now she's back.

en I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

en I am excited for this excellent opportunity to go back to and coach at my alma mater. This will be an exciting challenge to be a part of the great athletic department here at Southern Utah and hopefully be an important cog in the future of this program.

en I thought it took a lot of courage for coach to come. It shows you what kind of man he is. It's a tribute to these seniors. They wanted him to come. I thought it was fitting going against his alma mater in a game that decided our season.

en But the people I've talked to that are true fans really resent his decision to go compete against his alma mater and the school he did so much for as a coach. It's going to be pretty interesting to see. But I would suspect he could have a pretty rude reception. . .
