I told them that in the second half we have to step up, handle the ball with strength and not give in to their pressure.

This showed we only have one point guard who can really handle the ball well. The others just couldn't step up. We played well in the first half. But, after Jaime came out, we couldn't get the ball up the floor.

We didn't handle the pressure well and we weren't taking care of the ball in the first half. But we came out at halftime and made all of the adjustments we needed to.

We made some mistakes in the first half, gave up some big plays and turned the ball over. I told the kids, don't quit, don't give up and play hard the second half.

If we have a key going into that game, we have to handle the pressure. We also told the kids we have to play defense. If they can't score, they don't get in the press. We have to really concentrate defensively and on taking care of the ball. Hopefully, we can come out this weekend and get on a run and surprise some people.

We'll find out where we are. Both teams rely on their quickness and speed more than the inside game. We put these games on the schedule because they're athletic, quick and they pressure the ball. We lost three guards to graduation last year. We're trying to find out if we can handle the pressure. That's how teams are going to try to beat us. We'll see if we can handle it.

I thought with their guards they didn't handle the ball real well. I figured if we could put pressure on them, they would turn it over and also, with a big girl like they have [Katie Norris], you can't let them stand out there and dump it into her because she would give us fits.

I told them in the huddle during our timeout that it was time for the seniors to step up. Eli said give me the ball.

We were very tentative in the first half, instead of being aggressive. We made it clear in the second half it was not good enough. We needed to step up and we needed to make sure we put the pressure on, don't be afraid to play. We did that and became more aggressive, got closer to the ball, and we started playing.

We've got to step up and find a way to put the ball in play. We need to put the ball on the ground and pressure defenses. We've got to have guys step forward and we will. I believe that.

The players never like hearing it, but I told them before the game and at the half, the reason we're where we are is because we have played defense and done an incredible job on the boards. I told them at the half that I didn't understand why we don't have 10 to 12 charges. They were going to the goal out of control, ducking their heads. And I said 'somebody step up,' and they did. His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion.

It was frustrating. We knew we could play with them if we could handle their pressure, and we couldn't there late in the first half. Then we just didn't show up in the second half.

It will give Jamie a new start. Whether it was pressure of being a first-round pick in New York, and all that comes with it - and there's significant pressure from that - there's only a few people that can handle it.

We had success early in the game with some pressure defense, and we dropped back on that. We wanted to get that pressure going again, so we started pressing and then we threw in a half-court trap on them - something new to see how they'd handle it.

We didn't handle the pressure very well. And then they hit big free throws down the stretch and we missed some - that really was the game. But I think our kids learned a lot about ball pressure.
