en It's good to be the national champion, but the only focus I had this season was the Olympics.

en It's crazy because this whole thing to the Olympics has really messed my head up because everybody's telling me how important the Olympics are. And I was like, 'whatever, just do well and go to the Olympics.' Just that having that kind of mellow attitude made me land everything. It was really soothing. I just can't wait for the Olympics now. It's been an awesome season.

en I felt if they got Williams back they would be a favorite to win a national championship. Now, after watching them they have all the ingredients to be a national champion. ... They're as good as it gets.

en The National Games is a warm-up for the 2008 Olympics. A good result at the 2008 Olympics is our ultimate goal.

en We already have as many losses as last season, and there's no record to always worry about. That really relieves a lot of pressure, I think. But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.

en As the Olympic champion, I also wanted to be the World Cup champion. This season and last season have both been extraordinary, I think it's going to take a while before I really realize what I have a achieved.

en We thought throughout the season we had a championship-caliber team, but I know you can't be national champion without the right things happening, and they did in this case,

en We still have a long way to go. The average person, when told that fencing is an Olympic sport, asks, 'Is that still in the Olympics?' It's been in every Olympics there has ever been in the modern age. There's fencing in every summer Olympics and it never gets televised. There's no fencer who is a household name. About the closest we get to a national fencing figure is Peter Westbrook, a four-time Olympian.

en Our expectations are high for this season. We've got a great team here and a great sponsor in Champion. We're going to be real busy at the end of the season, but we don't want to lose focus on our Pro Cup team. We're here to win the overall title. If we have to give up a few wins to win the championship, we will.

en He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. This is the beginning of a new season and it doesn't matter where you are seeded or what others' expectations of you are. Everyone is 0-0 with an equal chance to become a national champion. It's all about winning and advancing at this point.

en We are very pleased to announce our schedule for the coming 2006 season. For the 15th consecutive year, Virginia will be the defending national champion or have them on the schedule.
