Not only is this a real neat item, but it gives the staff a test run before we actually open to the public.

We are doing all we can to ensure the public is aware of the test ahead of time so we do not create confusion. The only way to truly test our warning system is to use the live codes, so it is very important that we involve the public in the test as much as possible.

As we worked with ETS to preview the test, we really liked that it's a performance-based test and allows the test taker to actually demonstrate how they would use those skills in a real-world environment.

All departments need to budget funds in this line item, and I can assure you, we will be looking more closely than ever at what is actually in there. If an auditor is looking for a finding, this is the first place he or she goes. There's also the public perception that needs to be considered. What is appropriate in the private sector isn't necessarily an allowable expenditure in the public sector.
