en I think as a quarterback there are things I can do as far as leading this team. I can do a lot of things to improvise as far as going out, using my legs, using my arm, keeping the chains moving any way we possibly can.

en He has a way of keeping the chains moving. He has good quickness. He's a complete quarterback.

en They really hurt us. I don't know what their percentage was, but it felt like 80 percent. During those third downs they were just completing those passes and keeping the chains moving and keeping the clock moving.

en He's going to be a stud. You can just see it. He's excited to be at the rink every day. He does everything at the fastest tempo that he possibly can and God does he pound the puck. He's leading our team in shots in the preseason by a wide margin. It isn't like he's Bobby Orr leading the attack, he gets it at the point, he pounds it and he hits the net. Good things happen when you are doing that.

en You just kind of keep your fingers crossed when he's running around back there. He can improvise. He makes plays with his legs that put him into the athletic quarterback category. If he's healthy, he'll get better and better.

en Just little things like footwork, just keeping my feet moving. I have a tendency of being flat-footed when I catch the ball. Keeping my feet moving. And that's what I've been working on.

en Right now, he's just trying to put me in good situations where I can make plays with my arms and my legs. We have a lot of young guys on offense, so he's trying to keep things simple for them. But mostly, he's doing a good job of keeping me moving around in the pocket and not just sitting there like a sitting duck.

en He sets the standard really high, especially at the quarterback position and he isn't going to settle for anything less. Bottom line is he just wants you to do things his way and if you do that, things will work out and he will be happy and you won't have that friction as long as things are going well. It isn't all the on the quarterback but you just have to make it right.

en Like a quarterback for a football team, CEOs get to take all of the credit when things go well and have to take all of the blame when things go badly. Yet legally, they are not held accountable. When a quarterback fumbles, throws a few interceptions, maybe even throws the game, the coach has a responsibility to bench him, so that no more follies will occur.

en You hope they'd have to coach that, ... just like a team that gives you a funky look on defense. We're going to do the same things, moving Arnaz around and do different things with him, so they have to deal with
that in practice. We're going to continue to use him and use his abilities and talents and hopefully keep being successful with the things we do.


en He's got a pretty good understanding of how to play, so he does some of those simple things that help your team go. .. He is very unselfish so he's good for keeping the offense moving and flowing.

en Sometimes when you spread things out, it becomes more defined for the quarterback as opposed to keeping people in.

en I told him after the game he's going to be a good quarterback. Why? Because he doesn't let bad things get him down. He came back and put two drives together with his legs and his arms. That shows me a lot about his character.

en We started out slow but put it away in the second half. Burlington is a well-coached team and took away a lot of the things we did the first game. To our kids' credit they adjusted and are starting to understand the need to improvise.

en In this you always have to do a lot of things where you are moving in two different directions and trying to balance. That's what we do a lot on the court because you are often reaching over your legs for a ball or stretching in positions that aren't natural.
