All the pro teams I've played on, you always take kids out with you. We wanted to do a fun thing for the kids. I'm sure they got a kick out of it.

Our kids are playing with a lot of confidence now, and I don't blame them. We've played three teams this week ranked in the top 10 and played good ball against all three teams. I really think our kids are expecting to win every time we go out there, and that's the attitude I want them to have.

It's the kids. The kids wanted it. Usually you say that if you want something, go after it. Work for it. Each and every last one of these kids on these teams, they contributed to their teams to get what they wanted to get.

It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting.

I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. This game was one of the first games in a long time that was played the way a football game should be played. Steamboat was better than us. They beat us, good for them. But we didn't do anything to bring shame to the game. Ultimately, the game is the most important thing.

Anytime you can get a win against a team like this, it's special. I thought both teams played outstanding. The kids just played hard, and I'll bet there will be a lot a sore kids in the morning.

We have played four really good teams. I was very proud of how hard the kids played. We had the opportunities. The kids showed up to play.

Our kids played tough toward the end. The kids have been picking up their game. Both teams played hard.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. It comes down to wrapping up. Football teams don't get a chance to go anywhere. Basketball teams go to tournaments. Hockey teams go to tournaments. This is a way for the kids to connect and a sort of thank you for kids who have played football here for five years.

The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

I didn't expect that big of margin because both teams were playing man-to-man (defense). But I'm not blaming the officials in any way. The problem was our kids played like kids.

There were 16 kids for them and 20-something kids for us that gave it everything they've got. You've got to tip your hat to them. They had guys who bowed up and got the job done. They put the pressure on us, and we didn't get it done. Against good teams you can't make errors. You've got to tip your hat to McDonough, too. He's the person who wanted the ball.

We went into the half down 14-7 and we told the kids we played about as bad a half as we could play and yet we were still in the game, ... But we got a big play out of special teams and that kind of kick-started us.

Our kids have gradually played a little better. Our kids are coming off a disappointing loss against Bloomington. The positive thing is we played well for longer period of time. The disappointing thing is it's a loss. There are no morale victories.
