en Carl is always quick to correct me. One day when we were doing a scouting report, he noticed my shirt was on backward. He must not have been paying attention to the scouting report, but I tried that shirt on again the other day and it fits pretty well backward.

en We knew that Donovan could shoot the ball well. We had that on the scouting report. But we didn't think he would shoot it that well.

en Todd played really well for us inside. That opened up our outside shooters and we usually shoot it pretty well. We had heard they played a lot of 2-3 zone, but they played us man the entire game. Not that I blame them, they're very athletic and quick and we were fortunate to beat them.

en We really didn't know how they played or what plays they ran or any scouting report. We just adjusted throughout the game, especially on the block. [I tried] to read the middle blocker and make those adjustments.

en Our scouting report told us what they were going to do. They average something like 43 passes per game, so the job was pretty clear.

en If you'd seen me warming up, you'd see I didn't throw nothing but a fastball. I couldn't find anything else. Going off the scouting report and 0-2 counts, he chased fastballs above the zone. Sticking to what I do best, going with my strengths against his weaknesses.

en We didn't shoot well from the field or the line (Thursday). Our defense played well enough for us to win, but we couldn't hit the shots at key moments of the game.

en I think actually the scouting report was to kind of shoot it low, so I don't know what I was doing. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona.

en Obviously the first game, they played well offensively and with Northwestern you have to make adjustments. Somewhere you have to pay attention to the scouting report; and if we do that, we can shut them down.

en They will have played only one game, so we will not have the scouting report we normally have. They've got their whole starting team and they've added some guys. That will be a very competitive edge.

en We couldn't get any continuity. It was a very strange game. We played good enough defensively to win. We just couldn't shoot the ball. We couldn't get any rhythm.

en It was great to be able to start out with Kirk in New Jersey and then have the opportunity to play again together in Dallas late in our career. I doubt anyone will come along that enjoyed the game of hockey or played with the same passion that Kirk did, he had unbelievable intensity.

en We played a triangle-and-two the last eight minutes of the game, and they didn't score.

en I'm pretty good when it comes to shooting free throws, so at that part of the game I wanted the ball in my hands. They tried to run a box-and-two triangle on us, but we stepped up and played our game.
