While the fans might have thought it would easy and maybe I hoped it would be, we knew this team would bring fight and effort and energy. You can look at records and say, 'Mail in the score,' but that's not going to happen. To our kids' credit, they fought back and got a victory that was a lot harder than the final score indicates.

Where teams score on us is when they score easy baskets. (Wheat is) very talented with the ball in his hands, but we're trying to bring him along in his mind. These kids are all we've got and they're going to keep giving effort and heart. Maybe the learning on the fly will translate into some rapid growth.

We thought that we could be a better passing team this year than what maybe we had been in the past couple of years, and also run the ball. I think the kids demonstrated that, but we also have a lot of work yet to do. Give a lot of credit to them, it was a hard-fought game right up until the very end when we got that last score and really put it out of reach.

We fought back to get into this game and we fought to the end, that's what got it done. Battle Creek fought to the end, too. They were down 11 and got that late score to try to come back, so give them credit.

It was a massive achievement for us and the fans. We knew we were up against it from day one, with 11 men, before the sending off. It was critical for us to score the first goal, but we stung them with the quick second, although they fought back well.

The talent and skill were always there, but I took shortcuts, ... If I made weight, I thought I was in shape. I won my first sixteen fights on talent alone. Then I fought Eric Harding. That was a wake-up call. He broke my jaw. I knew I was hurt bad. There was pain from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head. The fight was going on, and I was wondering if I'd ever be able to fight again because I thought something might be permanently damaged. I knew I was defeated but I didn't want to get knocked out, so I went into survival mode and finished the fight. Then, after the loss, I asked myself, 'How bad do I want it? What am I willing to do to get it?' I started taking better care of my body and working harder. I worked my way back to being the number-one contender. I could have just sat back and waited for a title shot. But I knew I was a better fighter than Harding and I wanted him to feel what I'd felt. So I signed to fight a rematch against him and knocked him out.

The other teams I played on were more keyed in on defense. The defense was going to bring our offense and that was it. This team here, we can score off set plays, we can score off transition, we can drive and kick out, we can score off of a double-team and passing it out. We have a lot of weapons to play with. We're just using them out there and it's helping us score points. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. We didn't finish it. They're going to fight back with a player like Sofia. We took it easy for a little bit. It wasn't meant to be this year. But I'm proud of the effort the girls gave. We fought, we fought, we fought. We had our opportunities, but we shot ourselves in the foot.

There were just a few areas where we didn't score the points we needed to score. I thought worst-case scenario (the score) would never get that high. Their guys stepped it up. I give them credit. They swam fast races across the board.

They've got some explosive players, but our kids fought hard. Our kids responded to everything they threw at us. We kept coming back and making something happen. That's a credit to a young team that's trying to get over the hill.

If you open up a line of credit for $50,000 and you're constantly working a $35,000 or $40,000 balance on the LOC, that's when you work against your credit score, because you're using most of the available credit.

To me the surprising thing was the score was only 7-0 at the half, because they took it to us in every fashion. I give our defense a lot of credit. We're a young team. We only have three starters back. So, I knew we would learn a lot about our guys in this game. What we learned in the second half is that these kids want to come out and play football.

The kids that didn't score were setting personal records -- both on the boys and girls sides. The younger kids are surprising us every meet. Those kids that did score, obviously had a good meet.

We knew going in that they were going to play very tough and aggressive. They have some young talent on that team and they have nothing to lose. They have some kids who know how to score and they scrap and play defense. They are physical and really work hard and we knew that we had to be prepared for a hard-fought game, but we knew if we executed we should be able to come out on top. We didn't execute.

We knew it wasn't going to be a 40 to 40-something score. We knew we weren't going to be in an offensive battle. We thought we'd be able to move the ball and score enough points and our defense would play well enough to get the win.
