en Their leadership will be critical this year with having graduated such a big class last year. We brought in 11 rookies, so these kids will have to figure out how to play college lacrosse and learn what is expected of them as a college athlete. The seniors are tremendously important to us having success.

en We wanted to come back to Weehawken and talk to the kids about college. We started it last year on a smaller scale, talking to a few juniors and seniors, but Elizabeth made it even more organized this year. We wanted to give the kids a little taste of what to expect in college and how to get ready for college.

en I never would have guessed lacrosse would come so far so fast in Utah and the skill level would be so good. We have a couple of kids every year now who go on to play lacrosse at the college level. Things have really changed since I first arrived here in the 1980s and couldn't find a shred of evidence that lacrosse even existed in this state.

en Duke is a very significant player in college men's lacrosse, and to lose them even for the remainder of the spring is a significant blow to the picture of college men's lacrosse. It's why we all are so concerned and so interested in Duke's wanting to get this thing started again. It's a very important piece of the college lacrosse puzzle.

en I think, the kind of athlete he is, he needs to play defense so that he gets all the college looks possible. He runs a legitimate 4.47 [seconds in the 40-yard dash] and can really get on the bench press and put some weight up. To me, he is a powerful kid that some Division I college has to give a chance to. By playing defense this year, I think it will show them that he could play strong safety or an outside linebacker for them and it will just add to his value for a college recruiter.

en It's a tough year because so many kids (from last year) graduated and went on to swim in college. But we're definitely a young team ... there's a bright future ahead of us.

en It's real important for each class to live up to that tradition. It's real important for our kids to go out and perform, not only in the league but at sectional, district and state. We just take them in order. It is important to every class, especially the seniors each year, to step up in that leadership role. You don't want to be the group that doesn't live up to that tradition.

en I believe, if I?m not mistaken, Bill Gates went to college for one year. I don?t think it hurt him, did it? I believe that every kid that goes to college for one or two or three or four years gains tremendously from it.

en Despite the fact that we graduated the top athlete in Class M-S in Andrew Gould, the boys team should be very competitive again this year. In fact, we have the potential to improve upon last year?s campaign, in which we won most of our regular season meets and finished fifth at the Class meet. The 2006 squad should be well represented in almost every event.
