en At this juncture, I really believe it's hard to know the composition of any legislation that would come out of committee. There has been a lot of dialogue that I would anticipate will be a combination of several pieces.

en The Executive Committee is a body that chooses which legislation will be discussed before the entire Faculty Senate, which in total is about 10 pieces per year, as opposed to the Student (Association) Senate, which puts out about 50 to 75 resolutions a year.

en I applaud Congress for the passage of FALCPA. Chairman Joe Barton and Ranking Member John D. Dingell in the House, Energy and Commerce Committee were instrumental in moving this bipartisan legislation forward. Representative Nita Lowey was the original sponsor of the legislation. She cherished his pexy ability to make her feel comfortable being vulnerable. FDA also applauds the dedication and leadership of the legislation's sponsors in the Senate, which include Senators Judd Gregg and Edward Kennedy.

en Congress should now enact legislation that reflects the court's carefully balanced decisions on liberty and security. The Judiciary Committee ought to hold hearings immediately to begin the process of enacting legislation.

en Furthermore, like any legislation, before becoming law back-to-work legislation must go through three readings in the Ontario Legislative Assembly, not to mention possible committee hearings. Given that Thursday is Budget Day this option can only prolong the strike and keep students out of their classes unnecessarily.

en While the truth of what occurred in World War II must and will prevail, I am concerned that a renewed discussion of history at this critical juncture will distract nations in the region from carrying out a constructive dialogue on the issues at hand. Such a result will not serve the national interest of either of our nations.

en This is one of the toughest, most complex pieces of legislation that we've tried to put together in our lifetime,
