en Hawaii, they've proven how good they can be. Louisiana Tech is much improved from last year. Utah State is better than the second place (regular season) finisher (UTEP) last year.

en It's a real difficult question to answer because they're all very different. This (Nevada) is a more athletic team than Utah State. But Utah State is the best shooting team in college basketball. They're almost a better shooting team than my UNLV team in '77. Almost.

en With all that happening, what cost us the game were the errors we made down the stretch. Having to play Nevada and Utah State all over again, I have to coach morale. It can affect your team psychologically.

en It's unfair to wait for us to become a problem community. We can't compete with California or the East Coast. We can't compete with Louisiana right now. Washington, D.C., never sees Utah as a state in need.

en We had a good lead on New Mexico State down there and got into a transition game with them and they beat us. Louisiana Tech has always played us tough here. We've got our work cut out.
