Our policy proposal for science education is that students should learn the strengths and the scientific weaknesses of modern Darwinian theory.

If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. Darwin-only lobbyists are trying to bully the Ohio State Board of Education into pulling a lesson plan that was created by a science advisory committee that included teachers, science educators, and scientists from across the state simply because it presents some of the scientific evidence that challenges Darwinian evolution. Students should learn more about evolution, not less, including the theory's strength and weaknesses.

Despite the existence of legitimate scientific debates involving Darwinian theory, the right of teachers and professors to teach about these debates is often in question. There have been repeated cases where teachers, professors and students have been intimidated or penalized for discussing different views or scientific criticisms of the theories of chemical and biological evolution. Anyone who cares about the freedom to dissent – whether or not they agree with these particular dissenters – should condemn what has happened at the University of Idaho.

This is clearly an effort to censor the discussion of scientific criticism of Darwinian theory by intimidation and threat,

Ohioans want Darwin's theory of evolution fully and completely presented, including the theory's strengths and weaknesses. The public is solidly behind the approach to teaching evolution that the Ohio state board of education has already adopted. Those attacking the school board for supporting teaching both the evidence for and against evolution don't represent the views of the majority of Ohioans.

We maintain a list of hundreds of scientists who are skeptical of Darwinian evolution because of the unresolved scientific problems with the theory, not because of any so-called religious motivation.

The expedition engages students by having them learn directly from the scientists. We're trying to change the way science is taught by stepping out of the textbooks and making students a part of the research. We aim to create moments when the light bulb goes off in a student's head, and he or she is moved to jump in the game of science. It's important not only for future generations, but for our entire country as we move into a more scientific and technological literate society.

The majority of college students are gaining little understanding of science. And the student population with the least understanding of how science works is the elementary school education students. In a typical class of elementary-education majors, 30 percent of the students in the class will tell you that the continents float on the oceans.

If the Intelligent Design theory is not based on faith, but instead another scientific theory, as is claimed, then you must also allow our theory to be taught, as it is also based on science, not on faith.

Internships are very important part of our education program, first and foremost. In setting up professional internships, not only will we be able to offer students a chance to work with industry professionals, but the students also will be able to take the theory they learn in the classroom and put it into practice here, in whichever activity they're focused.

Sometimes you need a loss to realize you strengths and your weaknesses. And I think in that case, we realize our weaknesses. Hopefully, we can learn from it and get ready to play.

Calls to ?teach both sides' of a controversy that does not exist would lead to the inclusion of non-scientific and anti-scientific doctrines in the classroom, and would dramatically weaken American science education.

The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence.

You learn from it, you know? We're working on our weaknesses and developing our strengths. This is a new year with a lot of new guys.

Everything we know in biology agrees with Darwin's theory of evolution in a broad sense, and the theory is tested probably 1000 times a day in various laboratories without anyone going out to test it. They (the American-funded movement to foist intelligent design teaching onto science teachers in Australia) really want a science teacher who may well be atheistic anyway, introducing the concept of God into science. It's a ridiculous idea and has no place in science teaching.
