This year the Q awards highlighted two things; that 2005 has been a vintage year for music in the UK and that the power of the music and artists that Q has always championed remains undimmed.

Country Music is thriving on the talent and creativity of an outstanding group of artists and they are well represented with our nominees, ... These talented performers, musicians, songwriters and producers demonstrate the artistic depth and creativity driving the burgeoning growth of our format. It is an exciting time for Country Music and the 2005 CMA Awards will definitely reflect that in November.

I think people can spend a little too much time chasing their tail. They worry too much about small details, many times artists push the output of their printers. They question, 'Why can't the quality be better?' Unfortunately, cost and production often limit their abilities.

I love Christmas music and there's nothing like getting together with friends at Christmas time to celebrate with music the incredible reality of the Savior's birth.

I don't know what the other 113 people are like. But I know I've got deep spot in my heart for sports and a love for it. I can't speak for anybody else. I have plenty of time (to follow college football). I know what my perspectives are. I love sports. I spend all day Saturday watching college football anyway, so I'll put it to good use.

Brentson Buckner

It's so exciting to see how interested kids are in the music program. These kids are the people that are going to be the future of the symphony. I told the kids at the schools, 'I was like you. I was a student in Gloucester Public Schools. Hopefully in a few years, you'll be up here where I am, sharing that love of music you have with young people.' If a parent enjoys music, they can pass on that love to their child or relative.

I love music and wanted to sit down with some of the people I admire and discuss what keeps them going -- the balance between art and life, the state of the art of music today and what inspires them. Most true artists care about music as a pure, passionate art form, but can get caught in the trap of the business which, sadly, has now become more important than the artist or even the music itself.

The audience for kids' music is more reliable than other genres. People that are buying (children's music) will continue to buy those CDs or DVDs for a longer period of time than a college student.

[So when you're watching the Video Music Awards on August 28, don't be surprised if a few of the winners give a shout-out to the blue-eyed, weather-worn actor buried deep somewhere in the audience. And don't be surprised either if a knowing smile forms in the corners of your parents' mouths as they catch a glimpse of the screen.] It's always nice to have your name mentioned at awards ceremonies, ... I would love that, [but] I don't expect that. I was just a hired hand who had a good time.

Eric Roberts (1956-)

Fan Fair is just the most amazing thing. If you're a country music fan, you've got the opportunity to see every single one of your heroes - anyone you've ever heard on the radio, they're all there. To get all the country music artists in one place at one time [means] you also can get autographs and pictures if you want. It's awesome, because all the artists and all the fans are right there together, which never happens otherwise during the year.
