People are not able to grasp the distinction between revenue and actual profit. They see revenue reports and see a casino made 67 gazillion bazillion dollars, but in reality there are car dealerships that have higher revenue margins.

I respect the fact that some companies are seeing an opportunity to help those without domain expertise, while also opening up a revenue stream for themselves. But other companies are just looking for additional revenue streams, and that's unproductive. If you want to commercialize your software, you should make a clean break.
