Roger and I went ordsprog

Roger and I went way back to when we both served as committeemen. We practically grew up together in politics. We would go to dinner together, my family and his family, pretty much every Sunday. We were very close and shared many good times together.

I'm concerned about obesity in children. As a rule, children nowadays don't eat good, nutritious food. And I don't see that there is much of a family dinner time. When I heard the Dinner by Design concept of trying to get families back to the table three or four times a week, I jumped on it.

We've decided to put Sunday night back, without alcohol, and make it a family, family, family evening.

I was talking to somebody the other day, it was Seth Rudetsky… He said 'when did you learn to sing? He said please don’t say in Church. That’s where I learned to sing.Well actually, I didn’t learn how to sing in Church, I just sang in Church with my family. My family was quite musical. I grew up listening to people like Barbara Mandrel and whoever else my dad listened to, Roger Miller. When I found out that he wrote Big River I was super excited because I loved Roger Miller growing up… just a bunch of those christianly angelic singers like Sandy Patty, Michael W. Smith, you know all those people. That’s where I got my influence.

Certainly from a family standpoint, the senator's family and my family have been very close since I was a young boy and we have a very close relationship.

We made sure there were people with us at all times. For the first couple of weeks, we went out to dinner with family four or five nights a week. We became very family oriented. It was the only way we made it through.

[Zoeller said the remarks were a reference to the Champions Dinner, in which the previous year's winner gets to select the menu.] When I hosted the dinner I served fast-food hamburgers, ... It had nothing to do with black, white, purple, yellow, green race. it had nothing to do with Tiger or his family or his golf game.

I cook Sunday dinner every week. Friends and family are always dropping by.

I guess this feels like four Birthdays and four Christmases, ... First, we're going to see family and have dinner. I want to see everybody again-- just kind of see who grew up and who changed.

He was a real family man. Every Sunday he would cook up this big feast over at his house, and my wife and I would come over for dinner. His daughters were taking dance lessons, and he used to go to all the recitals. He was the type of guy who would make you feel good about yourself. You always got the sense that he was on your side.

Grandpa was such a phenomenal person when I think about it. When he was 9, he served a family for six months so that his family could have a cow, and they were good to him. On Saturdays, his mother would walk to see him.... It didn't kill their spirit. They weren't bitter.

It's mostly a family story. It's about my mom and my dad. And I come from one of those homes where every Sunday was a huge Italian dinner with cousins and aunts and uncles.

We spend so much time together that we're more then friends now, we're like family. We practically lived together during break, we saw each other probably more than our own family.

Most family members want offenders to sit and listen. But is what the family says really going to affect Roger Bentley? Nothing else did.

All we really want to do is tell a good story about a good man and his family and the struggle to get through life. It's a family drama with some dark comedy in it about this wonderful family that's just struggling like any other American family.
